What's best, luxury vinyl tiles, engineered wood or solid wood flooring?

Engineered and solid wood can be sealed with a lacquer. This helps with dogs paw marks as it seals the natural floor- see dog paw blog for more info.

If the floor is scratched it may require a light sand and reapplication of that lacquer or a maintenance oil application. This all depends upon our expert opinion of the floor. The wood floors, due to their longevity, provide for this to happen time and time again.

Luxury vinyl tiles LVT are durable. They mimic wood and they create a long lasting floor that has a wood "look". If a tile is damaged we can apply heat to repair that particular part of the floor.

LVT is made from polyvinyl chloride (PVC).

Unfortunately this is not sustainable but it will usually meet budget requirements. We would suggest that it needs to be replaced every five years to keep up to trend.

Wood is made from trees. Our bespoke products bear a PEFC or FSC Chain of Custody certification. Please see sustainability blog for more info.

Wood is a product that is unfortunately running out. As such real, solid wood is an investment. Please see investment versus flooring blog for more info.

Wood makes your room smell of real forest, it's texture is entirely different to feel on your feet than any other product. If your budget can stretch to wood, in any form, you wouldn't be disappointed with it in years and years to come. It should, when correctly fitted be a floor to last a lifetime.
