WHY CHOOSE REAL WOOD FLOORING

Hardwood floors smell good, are naturally beautiful and research shows that wooden floors have significant benefits for your health and well being.

Wood floors are dived into grades which are commonly know as prime, classic, character and rustic. Prime boards being on one end of the spectrum showing a minimal amount of knots, sapwood and defects, while rustic on the other showing everything from cracks, knots, splits and a wider colour variation.

No two real wood floors (or for that matter boards) can ever truly be called the same, as every board has its own character, complete with its own story.

WHATS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SOLID AND ENGINEERED WOOD FLOORING?

In a nutshell an engineered wood floor is a 2mm to 6mm layer of solid wood glued on top of man made board such a plywood.

This process creates a more stable wood floor which allows it to resist shrinkage and swelling much more so than a solid wood is able to. The stability of an engineered floor allows it to be laid over underfloor heating systems.

Engineered floors are also more tree friendly as it reduces the need to use endangered tree species.
